AHYC membership is open to anyone with enthusiasm and a love of boating, social and related activities. Boat ownership or boating skills are not necessary for membership. Members with boats are eager to invite boat-less members on sails to near-by clubs and ports. The range of interests includes cruising and racing events in the summer, educational seminars during those off-water months, and social activities throughout the year.

As this is a member's run Club, everyone pitches in on work parties to keep the Club in perfect running order, and members are expected to join one or more committees.
