Unlike Annapolis, which has a sailboat show one weekend and a power boat
show the next, Newport has both combined into one show. This allows the blow-
boaters to see how the stink-potters live (and vice versa). It also provides an
opportunity for those who want to “go over to the other side” to do so discreetly without arousing attention. Also, the Newport show has a special Brokerage show for boats in the 30’ – 125’ range. You never know what’s going to be there, but it’s an opportunity to see some one-off’s not at the routine boat shows.
